The best Spotify "Mood" playlists

Whether you’re overwhelmed with your music options or feeling kind of “blah” about your library, putting on a pre-made Spotify playlist can be the perfect way to find some new jams and be free from making any auditory decisions for awhile.

I work from home, so I listen to a lot of Spotify playlists as I'm tackling my to-do list. Press play on one that looks interesting, turn up the volume, and I’m ready to go. When you open Spotify, just click “Browse” then “Mood” and you can peruse through the playlists (or click on one of the playlist names below and it will take you right to it).

Here are some of my favorite Spotify “Mood” playlists. If you land on one you like and want more, I included an additional playlist each one is similar to. Happy listening!

“A fun mix of folksy and acoustic covers.”

This playlist helps me focus because the songs are familiar (so I can get in a groove and also not be tempted to stop what I’m doing and look up what it is if I like what I hear), but chill versions of them.

Perfect for: Working, studying.

Favorite song: “Come As You Are” by Imaginary Future

Similar to: Afternoon Acoustic

“Set it off with these epic anthems. Only good vibes here!”

This is an upbeat and youthful mix with more hidden gems than a typical mainstream pop playlist. The songs have a hip vibe, and will make you want to hit the beach with friends (if that’s something you’re into).

Perfect for: Getting ready, hitting the gym.

Favorite song: “Say Hi” by Codeko and Austin Mahone

Similar to: Stay Wild

“Brighten your day with a folksy mix of mood-boosters”

One of my all-time favorite playlists, this one is packed with frolicking hits that perfectly encapsulate the fun of pop music with the focus-inducing vibes of acoustic songs. This playlist has made me much more tolerant of country music than I ever through I was. Plus, I’ve definitely heard a lot of these songs in my favorite coffee shops, if that helps give you a sense of the kind of music on this mix.

Perfect for: Making breakfast on a Saturday morning.

Favorite song: “Riptide” by Vance Joy

Similar to: Autumn Acoustic
